Quantum Space

 Chess set While I designed this chess set I had many ideas, like series of weapons, Star Wars, and ancient Egypt. Then the idea of animal popped out of my mind. In this, I wanted to created one more step further  and tried to get idea of Banff animal specifically, so that I can adopted the idea of nature in Alberta. With this last project in OBDF210, I was really proud of myself as I developed my last piece well with simple but has characteristic of each animal well. From the past to this project, I can see the process of my skill improved and is interesting to see the quality of my works getting better and better.

  Project 4: REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: Process II & Final As I worked on this project, I really could get idea of measuring the size and make it as 3-dimensional objects. Following step by step and getting the idea, I was so excited to see how this object is made and  when I finished, I was so proud. Before I start, I wondered if I can finish this,  but after I see how this goes and the result, I was proud of myself and so happy to choose this object as my reverse engineered. Each part was created well, and even colour, I could get really close to the coffee grinder. 

Project 4: REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: Process I I chose Coffee Grinder as that was having interesting  take apart into pieces and it had really specific and well-known functions, how it works. As this was my first process of designing object, I had to and wanted to measure the length, wide, and radius of  cylinder very accurately. So, first was to measure every part and draw rough sketch of each part and write  how long they are. Then I tried to get 2-dimensional shape  of it as possible as I can and tried to make them 3-dimensional. It was really exciting to make them and design.

  REVERSE ENGINEERED OBJECT: SELECTION When I was selecting Engineered object, I tried to get the idea of machine, mechanism, and moving. Especially, I wanted to get moving part like gears so that it can be easily take apart and they can seen very well as "moving part" Coffee Grinder Electronic Alarm Clock Camera Microphone correction tape I am excited to design one of objects and put some colour that I want. Choosing objects was  interesting process and I noticed that looking  for a lot of engineered objects were a bit  difficult as well.

  Surface design With the design that I made, I noticed that black  and dark gray does not really having differences when laser cutting. However, my pattern worked quite nice and overall was great. When I work on patterns and laser cut, next time I had better choose different  black and white patterns if I wanna get nice distinct differences.

 SURFACE DESIGN STUDY: RESEARCH Simply, the patterns exist really close to individuals,  especially, in the houses. The patterns could be used to support objects to be looked more interesting and is used  almost everywhere. So, I was looking for patterns that is  surround me and could find variety of objects that has patterns. Patterns could be balanced or non balanced. Initially, when  I looked for patterns, I was only thinking of patterns like  check patterns, which has exact fit to each other. Then, I noticed there is actually not much balanced patterns than I imaged in real world.  And this allowed me to break my mind and try to create unique patterns. I found beauty in square and tried to make a pattern that is like snow. And patterns for me was balance so that I wanted to keep balance and find repetition. I kinda failed to fill colour inside, using Hatch, shapes but overall design of my work seemed nice. Fix a bit and try to put colours one by one, I could get idea of having colo
